This is the base game version of the packs version! If you do have some packs/kits but decided to do this version please feel free to add creative skills or generational gameplay to your liking!

 

To start you off, here are some basic rules that apply for ALL generations:

  • Generally refrain from using money cheats! The grind is part of the fun for this legacy challenge

  • If something is not specified (e.g. lot size, adoption yes or no, what world to live in, etc.) you do whatever you want to

  • Each of the generations rules apply for when the heir becomes a young adult, if you want to start before that, feel free to do that!

  • Ideally the lifespan is set to normal!

  • Add your own little spice into this challenge! All rules are optional but well thought out to match this legacy challenge!

Generation 1 | The Simple Life

 

Story

The chaos of the city was never for you. Overwhelmed by the hustle, noise, and endless demands of urban life, you longed for a simpler, quieter way of living. After years of saving, you finally take a leap of faith and leave it all behind, purchasing a modest lot far from the chaos. With no electricity and only the basics, you dedicate yourself to building a life rooted in nature. Your days are spent tending to a garden, crafting essentials, and finding creative ways to live off the grid. It’s a humble start, but one that fills you with purpose and peace. 

 

Lot Type: Off-the-Grid 

Career: Barista 

Aspirations: Freelance Botanist 

Traits: Loves Outdoors, Vegetarian, Outgoing
 

Rules

  • Give your Sim a Nature/Cottagecore inspired name (for example; Daisy, Hazel, Meadow, etc.)

  • Complete the Freelance Botanist aspiration 

  • Max the gardening and handiness skill

  • You don’t have to max the career as your main focus is your simple life

  • Grow food to cook meals

  • Earn money by selling produce, and if needed fishing 

  • Have two children 

  • Name your children after Literary/Farming (like Wren, Emerson, Harper, etc.)

  • Optional: Max the cooking skill

Generation 2 | The Practical Writer

 

Story

Growing up with the simplicity of off-the-grid life, you’ve always admired the value of hard work and self-sufficiency. However, as you mature, you begin to see that the off-the-grid lifestyle, while peaceful, isn't always the most practical or efficient. With a desire to make a living that balances creativity and hard work, you decide to stay on the farm but focus on a more modern path—freelance writing. You dedicate yourself to crafting stories and articles from the comfort of your home, using your love of nature and the skills you’ve learned from growing up to write about farm life, sustainability, and creativity. You also embrace practical skills like fishing, and handiness, using them to supplement your income and make a comfortable life for your family.

Aspirations: The Curator

Traits: Loves Outdoors, Creative, Cheerful

 

Rules 

  • Complete The Curator aspiration

  • Max the handiness and fishing skill

  • Keep and display at least 5 collectibles

  • Have at least one child, no adoption

  • Name your child(ren) after artistic/color-inspired names (Indigo, Monet, Rose, etc.)

  • Optional: Complete one additional collection outside of the aspiration’s goal

  • Optional: Get the mischief skill to level 5

Generation 3 | The Artistic Visionary

Growing up, you were always surrounded by the quiet hum of creativity. Your parent’s dedication to their craft filled the house with inspiration, and you couldn’t help but be drawn to the world of art. Determined to follow in their footsteps, you decide to pursue a creative career of your own. The world of freelance digital art calls to you, offering the flexibility to create your own path. Armed with your passion and a love for expressing yourself through painting, you set out to make a name for yourself in the art world, while also nurturing your creativity through painting.

  • Complete the Painter aspiration

  • Make and sell at least 5 physical masterpieces

  • Max the painting and charisma skill

  • Get married as a young adult

  • Optional: Max the photography skill

  • Quit the Business career before reaching level 5 and switch to the Astronaut career.

  • Max the Astronaut (Interstellar Smuggler Branch) career.

  • Max the Fitness, Logic, and Charisma skills.

  • Get the rocket science skill to level 6

  • Build a mansion during this generation.

  • Do not get married.

  • Have two children.

  • Either end the legacy after your children grow up or restart with Gen 1, if you restart give your children names based on nature and cottagecore
